Miss Kathleen Humphreys

Research Technician

Kathleen studied at Oxford Brookes University, obtaining a degree in Biology, followed by an MSc in Ecology, Evolution and Development.

After her MSc Kathleen explored field ecology, specifically in insect ecology. She volunteered in Honduras collecting, identifying and organising samples for the Oxford University Museum of Natural History. She has a passion for invertebrate genetics.

She started her professional career in industry, working as a Research Assistant in a biotechnology company in Oxford. In this role she was involved in developing and testing a screening platform for novel hits. Developing further skills in Molecular Biology and Biochemistry. Kathleen progressed to Senior Research Assistant before finding her new opportunity at Pirbright.

Kathleen is involved with projects such as East Coast Fever immune response exploration, VLP production, and assisting colleagues with various tasks.
