The Insect Transgenesis STP provides expertise in vector genetic engineering, supporting research aimed at uncovering the molecular mechanisms underpinning vector-virus interactions.

We specialise in generating genetically modified insects, including transgenic and knockout lines, and apply advanced molecular tools to analyse and validate genetic modifications. We currently provide these services for two mosquito species: Aedes aegypti and Culex quinquefasciatus

We are happy to discuss options to access other vector species and to collaborate on developing custom protocols for non-standard species. Our Insectary is equipped with specialist facilities to rear and maintain a number of insect species.
