Thangzuanlian Langel
Thangzuanlian graduated with a triple major in Biotechnology, Chemistry and Zoology from Christ University, India, because why choose just one subject?
He then undertook an MSc in Infection and Immunity at the University of Liverpool, studying the immune responses to Japanese Encephalitis Virus (JEV), and is now immune to long, boring experiments. Thangzuanlian loves to sing and has his own acapella band outside science.
His research interests are in immunology and virology, particularly immune responses to viruses, as well as vaccines. He hopes to lead his own research group in the future tackling viral diseases and contributing to the scientific world. He published a paper on hyaluronan during his BSc, but still struggles to keep his houseplants alive. Thangzuanlian is trying to make discoveries, or at least make it through the day without doubting himself on calculations for the thousandth time.
