- Serotype 3 is now considered as a strain of EHDV 1 (Anthony et al., 2009).
- EHDV 318 (also referred to as EHDV 9) is now considered a strain of EHDV 6 (Anthony et al., 2009).
- Ibaraki virus is now considered a strain of EHDV 2 (Uchinuno et al., 2003).
