BBSRC Discovery Fellow

Priscilla is a BBSRC Discovery Fellow in the African Swine Fever Vaccinology group. She is currently working on the development of a subunit vaccine for ASFV through the identification of immunogenic antigens. She obtained her Diploma in Biology from the University of Wuerzburg, Germany, and her PhD from the Royal Veterinary College and The Pirbright Institute (Arthropod Genetics group). Her PhD focused on engineering Aedes aegypti mosquito strains that are resistant to infection by the alphavirus chikungunya and incorporating these into gene drive systems. Prior to joining Pirbright, she worked in DSO National Laboratories, Singapore, and was involved in combat trauma care research.

She is interested in cellular immunity upon viral infection and in developing new methods to increase the host’s resistance to viral infections.
