Dr Priscilla Tng

Priscilla is a BBSRC Discovery Fellow in the African Swine Fever Vaccinology group. Her research focuses on exploring the dynamic interactions between ASFV and host immune cells in tissues, using organ-derived cultures to uncover differences in host immune responses to infection. Her work contributes to advancing strategies for more effective ASFV control. She is also involved in developing research tools and subunit vaccines for ASFV.

She obtained her Diploma in Biology from the University of Wuerzburg, Germany, and her PhD from the Royal Veterinary College and The Pirbright Institute (Arthropod Genetics group). Her PhD focused on engineering Aedes aegypti mosquito strains that are resistant to infection by the alphavirus chikungunya and incorporating these into gene drive systems. Prior to joining Pirbright, she worked in DSO National Laboratories, Singapore, and was involved in combat trauma care research.
