Oenone Bodman-Harris

Oenone is a first year PhD student collaborating with the University of Surrey under the Pathogens and Host Defences Doctoral Training Partnership. Oenone aims to investigate the immunopotentiation of the novel targeted antigen delivery vaccines (TADVs) developed in the AIV laboratory under the supervision of Prof. Munir Iqbal at The Pirbright Institute and Prof. Christine Rollier at the University of Surrey. Oenone hopes to identify the immunopotentiation mechanisms resulting in the increased efficacy seen in the TADVs and increase understanding of the mechanisms behind effective vaccination in poultry.

Previously, Oenone gained her BSc in Infection and Immunity at University College London including research dissertation project, “Can a novel human cytomegalovirus vaccine response protect against latency and reactivation” under the supervision of Dr Matthew Reeves. In addition, Oenone also completed her MSc (by Research) at the University of St Andrews, “Investigation in the mechanism of action of a novel SARS-CoV-2 antiviral in vitro” under the supervision of Dr Catherine Adamson and Prof. Terry Smith.
