Giann Kerwin Dellosa
Giann is currently pursuing his DPhil in Interdisciplinary Bioscience with the University of Oxford through a joint BBSRC funded Oxford-Pirbright scholarship.
His work currently deals with the structural biology of aphthoviruses, such as the foot-and-mouth disease virus and equine rhinitis A virus. Specifically, he is looking at structural intermediates between intact capsids and dissociation into pentamers using microsecond time-resolved cryo-EM. His work aims to elucidate the structural events necessary for viral uncoating and can also inform vaccine design to produce more stable vaccines.
He has also previously worked on rhinovirus and influenza vaccines.
