Dr Poonam Singh
Group
Poonam studied for her master’s degree in the School of Life Sciences, Agra, India. She then completed her PhD from ICMR-National Institute of Malaria Research, Delhi, India.
She has worked on vector-borne diseases like malaria, dengue, and kyasanur forest diseases and studied their epidemiological, biological, behavioural, molecular and climatological aspects. During her PhD, she studied the impact of temperature on development, metabolism, thermo-tolerance, and transmission potential of An. stephensi and Ae. aegypti.
Her research interests are understanding the relationship between environment and vector-borne diseases. Poonam joined the Applied Epidemiology group at The Pirbright Institute to work on lumpy skin disease.
