Katalin graduated from the University of Veterinary Medicine Budapest (BsC, MsC) in 2013 before completing a PhD at Ankara University, Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Department of Virology, supervised by Prof. Dr. Aykut Ozkul. Her PhD project involved investigating the differential susceptibility and microRNA pathways of Crimean-Congo haemorrhagic fever virus (CCHFV) infected human and bovine cell lines. Katalin is now a research scientist in the Coronavirus group investigating cross-reactive antibodies against infectious bronchitis virus.
