What?
From 04th October 2012 The Institute for Animal Health will be renamed The Pirbright Institute..
Why?
We are creating a state-of-the-art Institute on a single campus at Pirbright, Surrey, UK. The Institute will continue to carry out its world leading surveillance and research into virus diseases of livestock and viruses that spread from animals to humans. It will have the facilities and expertise to meet the known and emerging virus threats of the 21st century. Many staff have now transferred from our Compton Laboratory in Berkshire, UK where a move and decommissioning programme will continue for the next few years. At Pirbright, the first of several new buildings, a high containment laboratory for 150 staff, is nearing completion. Our new identity marks the beginning of a brand new phase in the 100 year history of the Institute.
How?
The Institute’s name will change to The Pirbright Institute; our registered head office will move to Pirbright; there will be a new logo and visual identity; our email addresses will change to:
@pirbright.ac.uk and our website will be www.pirbright.ac.uk.
