This week marks the 15th anniversary of National Apprenticeship Week, a week-long celebration of apprenticeships from 7 - 13 February 2022, shining a light on the positive impact that apprenticeships make to individuals, businesses and the wider economy.
Thanks to The Pirbright Institute’s unique facilities and our commitment to nurturing talent, we offer a range of specialist apprenticeships from engineering to laboratory technicians, business administration to animal care and welfare. These apprenticeships range from Level 2 to Level 7, which is a master’s in bioinformatics.
We currently have ten apprentices at the Institute, helping us to ‘Build the Future’ (the theme for National Apprenticeship Week 2022). We are proud of them and the work they do for us, and we hope they will one day become leaders in their respective fields.
Apprenticeships are offered on a fixed term basis and many of our successful apprentices go on to secure permanent roles at the Institute.
You can find out more about apprenticeships at Pirbright here and, when positions are available, they are posted on our Jobs page and advertised on our social media channels.
Here are some of the ways Pirbright staff and apprentices will taking part in National Apprenticeship Week:
- Join us for #AskAnEmployer on Twitter from 12pm – 2pm on Tuesday 8 February. Howard Rose, Learning and Development Manager, will be there to answer your questions
- Two of our current apprentices will be on hand to answer your questions via Twitter during #AskAnApprentice from 12pm – 2pm on Wednesday 9 February. If you have a question for Lucy (Business Administration apprentice) or Sophie (Animal Technician apprentice) then please tag us on Twitter @Pirbright_Inst and let us know.
- We’ll be at the Training, Employment, and Apprenticeship Fair at Farnborough Sixth Form College on Thursday 9 February to highlight the opportunities and possibilities that an apprenticeship can offer.
